Binational tools and efforts utilized to confront human rights violations.

 

Join the Binational Migration Institute (BMI) at the University of Arizona

for a symposium on

Saturday, October 7th from 9am-3pm

in Modern Languages 350

The one-day symposium will focus on strategic tools utilized by binational communities to seek and obtain social justice across the Mexico and United States border. The day’s events will include presentations and discussions of case studies and testimonies regarding the disappearance of the 43 students from Ayotzinapa, emerging asylum cases, and issues faced by the Yaqui community, as they work with organizations in Mexico and the United States to confront human rights violations.

Las herramientas y los esfuerzos que utilizan comunidades binacionales para enfrentar violaciones de derechos humanos.

Este simposio de un día se enfoca en estrategias que utilizan comunidades binacionales para buscar y obtener justicia social en la frontera México /EEUU.  El evento incluye presentaciones y discurso de casos y testimonios sobre la desaparición de los 43 estudiantes en Ayotzinapa, casos de asilos, y la perdida trágica de sus recursos naturales de la comunidad Yaqui en México.
