"Environmental health of farmworker communities in Yuma, Arizona and the Lake Atitlán watershed, Guatemala"

with Frank A. von Hippel (Professor and Researcher, University of Arizona)

Frank will speak about two of his Latin American projects focused on environmental health. The Arizona project is a partnership with the farmworker advocacy group Campesinos Sin Fronteras and two medical centers in Yuma County: the Yuma Regional Medical Center and the Regional Center for Border Health. The Lake Atitlán project is a partnership with several Guatemalan organizations and includes analysis of contaminants in subsistence foods and the breastmilk of the Mayan communities in the watershed.
