Dr. Antonio Bacelar da Silva Selected for Early Career Scholars Award by the Office of the Provost

The Office of the Provost selected Dr. Bacelar da Silva for an Early Career Scholars Award, which recognizes outstanding early-career faculty who are at the forefront of their disciplines and make highly valued contributions to the teaching, creative activity, and service priorities set out in the University's Strategic Plan. He was selected for his innovative accomplishments in research teaching, service, and commendable leadership in the International Critical Brazil Studies Network, for his critical and inclusive approach to Brazilian democratic participation, and his exceptional contributions to Black consciousness in Brazil, which are reshaping the literature on the intersections of race, class, social inequity, and gender in that country.
