Dr. Matias Bianchi, a faculty member in the Center for Latin American Studies and the School for Government and Public Policy, is currently working to change the face of politics in Latin America.
Dr. Bianchi recently traveled to Washington, DC to present expert political advice for the new direction of the Organization of American States. Dr. Bianchi is one of the founding directors of Asuntos del Sur, an organization that conducts research on the politics and social issues of Latin America, which recently implemented a study titled “La OEA en el Siglo 21.” The study consisted of research about socio-political transformations in Latin America, based on a regional survey, focus groups in Brazil, Honduras and Ecuador, and various case studies. The study emphasized safeguarding human rights, security, and equality in the internet era, as well as developing strong 21st century political leaders.
