The Center for Latin American Studies is very proud to announce that LAS/Public Health major Mario Aubert-Vasquez recently won a 2016 Pillar of Excellence Award. These annual awards honor the outstanding academic accomplishments of UA's Honors students, UA Regents Professors, University Distinguished Professors, University Distinguished Outreach Professors and Distinguished Scholars, and are only awarded to a select few exceptional scholars. Mario was awarded for his honors thesis research assessing the impact of all-terrain wheelchairs and prosthetics in non-ambulatory populations in Nogales, Mexico, a project funded by LAS’s Peter T. Johnson Summer Field Research scholarship. Congratulations Mario on this great honor! You deserve it!
