Dr. Sonja Wolf, Researcher with The Institute for Security and Democracy, (Instituto para la Seguridad y la Democracia) will present her work on,
“Migration Management in Mexico: Institutional Weaknesses and their Role in Migrant Abuses” 
 
 
Dr. Scott Whiteford, Professor Emeritus, The Center for Latin American Studies and Director of the Migrant Border Crossing Study,  will discuss,  
“U.S. Immigration Policy Debates and Family Unification”

Where: Harvill Building Room 101, 1103 E. 2nd Street 
 
Since 2012 Dr. Sonja Wolf has been the principal investigator and project coordinator on an assessment study of  Mexico’s National Migration Institute (INM).  The study set out to analyze INM’s procedures and practices and strengthen the  accountability mechanisms to reduce migrant human rights violations.
