To celebrate the grand opening of the Centro de Estudios Mexicanos en Tucson (CEM-T) of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), UA Global Initiatives is hosting a series of events (see program below).
"The main objectives of the CEM-T of UNAM are to strengthen academic collaboration with the University of Arizona (UA) as well as with other institutions of higher education in the region, and to deepen and expand the development of joint research projects on social and natural sciences, engineering, and humanities, among other fields. It also aims to develop student mobility programs, conduct, in partnership with the UA, activities related to teaching Spanish and Spanish certification, disseminate Mexican cultural activities and participate in the UNAM initiative to assist migrants.
The activities during UNAM@UA will include exhibits, specialized lectures (in science, social sciences, humanities, and fine arts), panel discussions, as well as films and cultural presentations. Most of these activities will explore and review the current collaboration between UNAM and UA, and identify new ones (from the Global initiatives site). "
