The Arizona State Museum and the International Coalition of the Sites of Conscience
The Center for Latin American Studies is collaborating with the International Coalition of the Sites of Conscience (ICSoC) and the Arizona State Museum (ASM) to develop and implement immigration dialogue for teachers and students in secondary and higher education. We recently attended the ICSoC national meeting that was held in Birmingham, Alabama which was part of a larger meeting of the American Association for State and Local History (AASLH) http://www.aaslh.org/ . The ICSoC has currently secured funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) http://www.neh.gov/ and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) http://www.imls.gov/ for 2014 and 15 to develop and implement these regional immigration dialogues. As a member of the ICSC the ASM is participating in the 2014/15 immigration dialogue network and has recieved a small grant from the coalition to develop and implement immigration dialogue for our region. The Center for Latin American Studies has been working with the outreach coordinator for ASM, Lisa Falk, to develop the regional immigration dialogue. We invite you to participoate in this project with us!
