Jay Sagar explores the evolution of federal border policy, specifically as to criminal immigration and drug trafficking offenses, and the changing landscape of who is selected for prosecution, what punishment they receive, and how each policy is carried out. Past, present, and proposed laws will be discussed in order to understand the current climate in federal court and how individual defendants are affected, and actual case studies will be used to illustrate the impact of the changes.
