Claudia Diaz-Combs is doing the Dual Degree program with Latin American Studies and Public Health - Environmental Health. She recieved her undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona in Environmental Science. Her research interests include environmental justice issues, particularly how oil drilling in the Amazon affects the indigenous and rural communities living near those areas. She also has an interest in how the oil drilling and leaching of chemicals from spills and waste disposal affects the water supply for those groups who drink the contaminated water in the Amazon River. Her hobbies include reading and playing soccer. She expects to graduate in May 2018.
