History Department Brown Bag Colloquium: Book Launch of B.J. Barickman's From Sea-Bathing to Beach Going

The UA Department of History and the Center for Latin American Studies are most pleased to announce the posthumous publication of B.J. Barickan's From Sea-Bathing to Beach Going: A Social History of the Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This book launch invites all to discuss this much-anticipated work with scholars of Brazilian history and society. Editors Henry Kraay (University of Calgary) and Bryan McCann (Georgetown University) will discuss the work and its publication. In addition, Seth W. Garfield (University of Texas at Austin) will share reflections on its significance.
