Welcome to CLAS: Fall 2023 Cohort

The Center for Latin American Studies would like to welcome the Fall 2023 cohort.

Originally from New Orleans, and frequenting Nicaragua and Mexico, Gabrielle is interested in ways in which Latin America is connected with the deep south. Gabrielle holds a B.A. in English and Digital Media from Loyola University of New Orleans, as well as a certificate in Spanish from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Her work has been exhibited at museums and cultural centers in New Orleans and Mexico City. Her research interests include access to archives, Latin American experimental cinema, and the banana trade between New Orleans and the Caribbean coast of Latin America. In 2020, she began a multimedia archival project called "Imágenes de Nicaragua" which seeks to make photographs, documents and videos from Nicaragua more accessible and public.
