Gabrielle is pursuing a Master’s in Latin American Studies. Originally from New Orleans, and frequenting Nicaragua, and Mexico, she is interested in ways in which Latin America is connected with the deep south — specifically ways in which collective memory and images are used to communicate in political landscapes.  Gabrielle holds a B.A. in English and Digital Media from Loyola University of New Orleans, as well as a certificate in Spanish from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Her work has been exhibited at museums and cultural centers in New Orleans and Mexico City, where she has been based the past few years. Her research interests include access to archives, Latin American experimental cinema, and banana trade between New Orleans and the Caribbean coast of Latin America. In 2020, she began a multimedia archival project called "Imágenes de Nicaragua" which seeks to make photographs, documents and video from Nicaragua more accessible and public.
