George Romero

Graduate Assistant

George is a 2nd year PhD student in linguistic anthropology with a PhD minor in Latin American Studies. His research interests focus on the dynamics between Portuguese language acquisition and employment opportunities for newly arrived immigrants in São Paulo, Brazil. This past summer, George received a FLAS fellowship to continue studying Portuguese in São Paulo, Brazil. In addition to Portuguese, he also speaks Spanish and a little Arabic. George is excited to be working with the Title VI centers in his new role as the Title VI Communications and Social Media GA.
